Both ThingsInNet Sensing and Actuating IoT devkits use the CP2102 USB-to-UART bridge manufactured by Silicon Labs. You can install the device drivers for major operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux. This document explains how to install the drivers on Windows.

Step1: Download the devices drivers for your OS from Silicon Labs website and unzip the folder.

Step2: Open the Device Manager on your computer. You can access it by right-clicking on the Start menu in Windows and selecting “Device Manager” from the list.

Step3: In the Device Manager window, locate the “Other devices” category. If the CP2102 USB-to-UART bridge driver is not installed, you may see a warning icon next to the device.

Step4: Right-click on the CP2102 USB to UART Bridge Controller with the warning icon and select “Update driver” from the context menu.

Step5: In the “Update Drivers” window, choose the option to “Browse my computer for drivers.”

 Step6: Navigate to the location where you unzipped the downloaded folder in Step 1. Then select the folder containing the driver files and click “OK” to confirm the selection.

Step7: Follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers. Windows will install the necessary files for the CP2102 USB-to-UART bridge.

Step8: Once the driver installation is complete, go back to the Device Manager and check if the warning icon has disappeared for the CP2102 USB-to-UART bridge device.
