Description
This version is the high-performance “1:1” compatible edition of the Arduino Uno R3. This board uses the ATmega16U2 chip for USB-to-Serial communication, ensuring faster transfer rates and the ability to be recognized as USB HID device. It also features the classic DIP (Dual In-line Package) microcontroller, allowing you to easily replace or upgrade the chip if needed.
Key Features:
- Plug-and-Play (No Extra Drivers): Because it uses the ATmega16U2, most operating systems (Windows/Mac/Linux) recognize it immediately without needing to hunt for drivers.
- Removable DIP MCU: The ATmega328P sits in a socket. If you accidentally damage the chip during a project, you can simply swap it out for a new one without replacing the whole board.
- Advanced USB Functionality: The 16U2 chip can be re-flashed (using DFU mode) to act as various USB HID devices, making it a favorite for custom controllers.
- Universal Shield Support: 100% compatible with all existing Arduino shields, sensors, and code libraries.
